Today, I’m featuring the interview with Rhys Darby, also known as Murray, the band manager of FOTC. He was asked questions like “When did you decide you wanted to become an actor?”, “How do you like to spend time between takes?”, and “What was your favorite TV show growing up?” As far …read more

Song of the Day: She’s So Hot/Boom

Song of the Day: She’s So Hot/Boom

Bret:
Oh my God. She’s so hot.
She’s so flippin’ hot. She’s like a curry.
I want to tell her how hot she is, but she’ll think I’m being sexist.
She’s so hot she’s making me sexist.
Bitch.
I think I need a 1983 Cascio DG-20 electric guitar set to electric mandolin, some drums.
Yeah. Hear me now!
I see you with a sign I want to boom like it’s never been done
Bust moves like the click boom of a gun
My beats stay locked and my eyes are zooming
My feet starts tweaking and my body’s booming
The first day of boom and the flowers are blooming
Booty boom bass and …read more

Episode of the Day: Episode 2: “Bret Gives Up The Dream”

Episode of the Day: Episode 2: “Bret Gives Up The Dream”

Just like last week, here’s the link to the HBO synopsis of the episode. You can find my own, much more lengthy synopsis, below!
So, all we need to get to is the second episode before we realize that Bret and Jemaine are having money troubles. Bret comes home with some groceries, and Jemaine starts to eat a sandwich before being told that Bret just found them on the street. This causes a lot of torment, and starts the song “Inner City Pressure,” which has great synth effects, if you were curious.
The duo go to Murray’s office to have a band …read more

Video: CES Convention

The video wasn’t working, so I decided to try again, here it is!

Link of the Day: CES

Link of the Day: CES

So, I got this video in an email Mike sent me, and it was seriously great. It’s very very recent, so that’s the most exciting thing probably. The duo actually played at Comcast’s presentation at the Consumer Electronics Show. It was from January 7-10 of this year in Las Vegas. Proof that it is actually very recent? Jemaine makes the crack that something is as obsolete as a 2007 calendar. For a place with 1.7 million net sq. feet of space to use for the show, it’s really nice that they set aside some space for Flight of the Conchords.

Yay! I got my first fan submission! This, no doubt, fills me with much glee!
I got this email a couple days back from someone named Dfactor that said they had a post up about Flight of the Conchords, so I couldn’t resist putting it up.
It is a five-part documentary about the duo’s trip to Austin. Make sure you click here to see it! Now!
I tried putting up a screenshot but my lame old 56k wasn’t having it. Lame. Whatever, go see it for yourself!

Podcast of the Day: Kristen Schaal

Podcast of the Day: Kristen Schaal

Who is Kristen Schaal, you might ask? Well, if you’re asking that question, you obviously haven’t seen an episode of FOTC yet, and for that,  I shame you. However, if you don’t know, I suppose I’ll tell you a little about her.
Schaal plays Mel on the HBO show, the obsessed fan of Jemaine and Bret, who is definitely bordering on stalker in every episode. She is also married to Doug, which makes things a lot more awkward and complicated.
Moving on, I’d like to say that Kristen Schaal is not like her character in real life. The proof? The HBO podcast. …read more
