On FotC, it seems like Murray never really gets a break. However, in real life, he’s a great comedian, and there are websites dedicated to him. You might even say, “Rhys, you got it goin’ on!” He, according to his website, is a “Comedian and an actor….from the depths of space!” Pretty intense if I do say so myself.

This is for sure a site you want to visit, especially if you’re a fan of Murray, but don’t like how he always gets the short end of the stick. I mean, on here, he’s invading, you know? There’s some great audio and video here, plus links to his MySpace, gig information, and a bio. Give it the ol’ checkaroo!

I found this awesome thing on flightoftheconchords.com, a glossary of all terms Kiwi. I know, it’s hard to understand the guys on the show, but you needn’t worry any longer. You can keep up in any New Zealander’s conversation with little more effort than batting an eye after you memorize the key phrases on this site. Click here for the full list, but for now, here’s a little preview….

• Fush and Chups: A.K.A., “fish and chips.” They claim it’s a healthy meal, and then go on to boast about the magnificent huge-sized burgers they have to offer there. Hmm, sounds a little too American for my speed to be authentically New Zealand, but nevertheless, you know now how they pronounce “fish and chips,” and I know you were curious about that, so you’re welcome.
• Pack a Wobbly/Crack the Shits: Lose your cool/become annoyed. I’m not sure about you, but I would much rather use these phrases than get annoyed, and I’m planning on starting just as soon as I’m done posting this blog. Pack a wobbly….I wonder if they got that from wallaby…someone tried to pack one in their knapsack, it got angry/crazy, and chewed a hole through your bag. It “packed a wobbly.” I think that’s an awesome theory, so I’m going to say it’s right.

I don’t know about all of you, but ever since I started watching Jemaine and Bret, I’ve wanted to learn how to speak JUST LIKE THEM! Okay, that may or may not actually be true, but I’m sure that some of you out there would like to know how to speak with a New Zealand accent, so for those of you that would like to do this, I have a link just for you…

New Zealand Accent Lessons! 

The site goes on to explain that while Australia has different accents in different regions, New Zealand is uniform, thusly making them a way cooler country. Anywho, this site explains some differences between New Zealand and Australia accents, so once you make a trip down there, you’ll sound like a pro, a native. All you need after that is cool leather jackets or a sweater with a tiger on it. You can thank me after you’re accepted as one of New Zealand’s own.
