Song of the Day: “Leggy Blonde”

Song of the Day: “Leggy Blonde”

(Murray)
Goodbye
Goodbye, leggy blonde
Every day I’d look across the office floor
There you were your hair down to your legs
And your legs down to the floor
Leggy blonde, goodbye
Goodbye
Now that you are gone I’ll never see you here for tech repair
I wish you knew how much I loved your legs and your hair
Leggy blonde, goodbye
Goodbye
(Alternating Jemaine, Bret, Murray)
Leggy leggy leggy leggy
Leggy leggy leggy leggy
Leggy leggy leggy leggy
Leggy leggy leggy leggy
Blondie blondie blondie blondie
Blondie blondie blondie blondie
Blondie blondie blondie blondie
Blondie blondie
(Murray)
Leggy blonde
Goodbye
Goodbye
I had a budgie but it died
(whoa)
I like pie
(Murray/Jemaine/Bret)
Leggy leggy leggy leggy
Leggy leggy leggy leggy
Leggy leggy leggy leggy
Leggy leggy leggy leggy

Episode of the Day: Episode 7: “Drive By”

Episode of the Day: Episode 7: “Drive By”

This episode….honestly….a perfect example of how FotC hits issues, but in the most indirect, bizarre, innocent, hilarious way. Seriously, who thought they would run into a man that had a prejudice against New Zealanders? It is the ideal episode for talking about racism, but not offending that many people….except for those near that continent that nobody pays a lot of attention to…so like it matters, right?
Anyway, “Drive By” is all about this man that sells fruit near Bret and Jemaine’s apartment, and he doesn’t want to sell it to them because he has a problem with people from New Zealand. …read more

Episode of the Day: Episode 5: “Sally Returns”

Episode of the Day: Episode 5: “Sally Returns”

Once again, if you’d like the HBO Synopsis (and the link to this picture) click here. My synopsis follows….the better synopsis. Kind of like pork is the other white meat. Except I don’t eat pork. And they say other, and not better. Okay, so my reference sucks, but my summary is better, I promise!
So, this is the oh-so-rare occasion where I’m not actually watching the episode to give a synopsis, so I’ll do this the best I can with what I remember. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Sally, and all of a sudden, she’s back and Jemaine sees …read more

Episode of the Day: Episode 4: “Yoko”

Episode of the Day: Episode 4: “Yoko”

Once again, for the HBO synopsis, click here. For my much more awesome synopsis, read below.
So, the episode starts with a proposition for a great tour of band rotundas by Murray. However, Bret isn’t having it because he’s going on a date with Coco, his new girlfriend. Jemaine tries to get out of it saying he met a girl at the video library, but Murray got him, clever Murray, since there’s no such thing as a video library.
We then get to see Bret and his ladyfriend at her apartment, wit the deliciously awkward ending to their date, where we find …read more

Episode of the Day: “Mugged”

Episode of the Day: “Mugged”

Once again, if you’d like to hear HBO’s synopsis (where I got this sweet pic of the camera-phone), click here. For my extremely detailed, never-watered-down synopsis, read on below…
If you ever wanted to find out the reason why so many New Zealanders are mugged in New York City,  this episode will provide you with the answer. In “Mugged,” Bret and Jemaine are instructed by Murray on how to navigate through New York. Some of his advice includes avoiding heavy traffic by going down back alleys, wearing bright orange reflective vest-belt-things, carrying a New York map everywhere, not to mention open, …read more

Podcast of the Day: Rhys Darby

Podcast of the Day: Rhys Darby

So, I checked this time, and you can still get this great podcast. Just get iTunes if you don’t have it already, don’t make me scold you again, search for “Flight of the Conchords” and download all the free podcast episodes you can. It will be worth your time.
Today, I’m featuring the interview with Rhys Darby, also known as Murray, the band manager of FOTC. He was asked questions like “When did you decide you wanted to become an actor?”, “How do you like to spend time between takes?”, and “What was your favorite TV show growing up?” As far …read more

Episode of the Day: Episode 2: “Bret Gives Up The Dream”

Episode of the Day: Episode 2: “Bret Gives Up The Dream”

Just like last week, here’s the link to the HBO synopsis of the episode. You can find my own, much more lengthy synopsis, below!
So, all we need to get to is the second episode before we realize that Bret and Jemaine are having money troubles. Bret comes home with some groceries, and Jemaine starts to eat a sandwich before being told that Bret just found them on the street. This causes a lot of torment, and starts the song “Inner City Pressure,” which has great synth effects, if you were curious.
The duo go to Murray’s office to have a band …read more

Episode of the Day: Episode 1: “Sally”

Episode of the Day: Episode 1: “Sally”

I know I talked a little about Episode 1 before in the podcast post, but I didn’t put up anything like a plot synopsis, so her ya go… (To read HBO’s synopsis, click here)
So, this is obviously the pilot of Flight of the Conchords. Bret and Jemaine have just recently moved to New York, to Queens specifically, and they’re talking about girls Jemaine has dated in New Zealand. They go to a party at Dave’s, a guy who runs a pawn shop in town, and Jemaine sees a girl from across the room who he is attracted to instantly. This …read more

Rhys Darby’s Myspace blog.

For those of you who don’t know (why the hell not?!), Rhys Darby plays Murray, the band manager on Flight of the Conchords. He’s hilaaaarious. He’s always trying to get the band gigs, and it’s cute because he tries so very hard, and you can just tell his heart is totally in it…but alas, he’s not a very good manager.
Anyway, Rhys has a Myspace blog that he updates often that, if you haven’t been reading, you must read…and read now! It’ll help you get to know him a little better, not to mention, keep you up to …read more
